Puerto Aventuras is located about 1 hour south of the Cancun International Airport and is easily accessible from the airport by pre-arranged private Transportation.
There are many ways to Get to Puerto Aventuras from the Airport such as Renting a Car, taking a taxi, or the ADO bus to Playa Del Carmen and then a shuttle from Playa Del Carmen to the Entrance of Puerto Aventuras. But without a doubt the best way and usually most economic is hiring a car or van service prior to arriving (Pre-paid airport transfers) since the chofer will be waiting for you when you exit with your luggage and take you and your family directly to the door of your hotel or condo in Puerto Aventuras or anywhere in Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, The Riviera Maya or Tulum for that matter. Vans:Vans regularly run up and down the federal highway between Tulum and Playa del Carmen. The price to Playa del Carmen is about $13 pesos (U.S.$1.5). The price to Tulum is about $17 pesos (U.S.$2.0) Vans run every 10 to 15 minutes between 05:00 and 22:00 hrs. (5 AM to 10 PM) in any direction.
Taxis:
Taxis also run up and down the federal highway between Tulum and Playa del Carmen looking for passengers. As with any taxi in the Yucatan, fares can vary wildly, so it's a good idea to ask what the journey will cost before embarking.

You should expect to pay around $150 pesos (U.S.$15) for a ride into Playa del Carmen and about $250 pesos (U.S.$25) for a trip to Tulum. Taxis can also be taken inside the Puerto Aventuras Marina.
Out of town buses:
From the federal highway, you can catch one of the second class buses that run to the bus stations in Playa del Carmen, or Tulum, or any place in between. A trip to Playa del Carmen will cost about $10 pesos (U.S.$1), while a trip to Tulum will set you back about $15 pesos (U.S.$1.50). Second class buses run from 06:00 to 22:00 hrs. (6 AM to 10 PM) in any direction. |
